Our fee's are fantastic value for money as you will receive a thorough survey in plain English, carried out by our fully trained and experienced Chartered building surveyors.

So, why not ask a damp contractor offering a 'FREE' survey?

Contractors offering ‘free surveys’ have to sell their treatment on the back of the advice they give, to make a profit, to stay in business. In the same way you wouldn’t ask a double glazing salesman if you needed new windows; asking somebody who is trying to sell a damp proof course, whether such work is actually necessary, or is truthfully the cause of the problem is a system open to abuse.

As the landlord or property owner we want you to enjoy your investment 'HASSLE FREE'.

Building Initiative  have saved property owners thousands and thousands of

££££ in poor diagnosis from previous contractors.

All, seem to suggest its 'rising damp' and that its going to 'cost' to put it right... WRONG!

We have over 30yrs experience of damp and mould cases and have used that knowledge to good effect and achieved amazing results by simply educating the residents on how to live within their properties or by finding leaks and increasing ventilation. We will actually diagnose the issue instead of hiding it. Rising Damp is INCREDIBLY rare... although we have yet to see it.

Did you know that...
RISING DAMP is incredibly rare and only a very small percentage are genuine and these include ancient properties which have never been built with a damp proof course. This means that an incredible amount of unwanted dampness has nothing to do with a failing damp proof course (DPC) and this should be the very last thing considered.
Rising dampness cannot be proven by electrical meters alone and those contractors who state otherwise are misleading their client.

Our approach is different from others...

(Others) Nitrates in wall = rising damp = defective DPC = Costly remedial work...

At the Building Initiative our approach is more holistic:

Nitrates in walls = damp ground/wall = find out why ground/wall is damp = rectify cause of damp ground
